Lodging

Q&A

I need a place to stay in New York City. Do you have any options?

As Summer Intensives students, you are free to make your own lodging arrangements, which may include staying with friends, at a hotel among other options. But we do understand that lodging is a concern for our students and we have reserved a block of rooms at The Towers that we will offer to Summer Intensives students on a first-come, first-serve basis for an additional price of $450 for one week or $900 for two weeks. Please indicate in your application if you’d like to stay at The Towers. Don’t delay as we cannot guarantee rooms to late-comers!

What are The Towers?

towersThe Towers is a residential building that is part of the City University of New York (CUNY). It serves to house students during the school year and is offered up to visitors during the summer. It is located on the campus of The City College Of New York, a quick 20-minute subway ride to Times Square on the A train.

What are the rooms like?

We reserved double rooms, which means that you will be sharing with another person of your gender who is also enrolled in the program. This arrangement has encouraged bonding among class participants in our experience. Each double room is served by an accompanying full bathroom.

Is the price of lodging included in my tuition?

No. If you’d like to stay at The Towers, you will need to pay a extra $900 for two weeks or $450 for one week. You will be ask if you’d like to stay at The Towers on your application.

Yes, Although each two bedroom suite includes a small kitchen area, the rooms are not outfitted with kitchen utensils (no plates, silverware, pots, pans, etc…). Please plan to bring those with you or plan to buy them in New York. Towels and bed linens ARE provided.

When can we move in to The Towers?

We will allow move in the Sunday before your Summer Intensive starts and you will have to move out the Saturday after the workshop ends.
